Re: USB Wi-Fi?
I think there is one more option that will run on the Raspberry Pi and that is Repetier Server. I'm not 100% sure of that and from the little I have read Octoprint is supported and updated better than Repetier Server. Are there any users who is running either options, this would be an interesting ...

Re: Preventing PLA jams with Oil
Thanks 626Pilot, that seems like a good idea, and will be one of the first things I try if I start getting jams again. One trick I have found is that putting the shroud one fin down from where you would normally put it seems to keep the bottom fin cooler which I think helps prevent the heat from ...

Re: Preventing PLA jams with Oil
I was having the same problem with my original E3D v4, but I have yet to have any jams at all on my v4.1 even when printing with many retracts. However, I did want to make one of these to filter any dust that may have accumulated on the filament. I decided it would be nice to mount in the hole on ...

Re: T-Glase print temp/speed?
After switching out my hotend to an Aluhotend LT, and removing my part fans, I think I've run into the same problem that Cope413 described. What seems to happen is that little bits of the infill that are not flush with the current layer tend to stick to the tip of the nozzle. These get dragged ...

Re: T-Glase print temp/speed?
I am using a J-Head and was printing with it at 230c / 30mm/s. I have three part cooling fans on the effector currently, which works well with PLA, but with T-Glase it seemed to cool it down too much and I think the layers adhesion is not as good as it could be as a result. Since T-Glase has a ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend
Could you give us the STL for the one you designed? Sure, they're up on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:80616 (It's actually linked in my post, but I didn't make it very clear, sorry) I'll probably post the original SketchUp files on Thingiverse soon in case you want tweak it in any ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend
I received mine last week and I am really happy with it. I have noticed that I'm getting cleaner prints even though I've reduced the retraction from 6mm to 4mm. With the stock hotend I was seeing occasional variances in the extrusion width, especially at higher speeds when doing infill or just after ...

Re: Raspberry Pi on Rostock MAX
Well, it looks like I can no longer use Octoprint. I switched to Polygonhell's Repetier firmware and I can't emphasize enough how impressed I am with the improvement. Seriously, if anyone is still running the Marlin firmware it is well worth the effort to switch to Polygonhell's. Unfortunately ...

Re: Raspberry Pi on Rostock MAX
I am thinking about trying to do something like this. Are you happy with it? I am very happy with this setup. For one, I no longer have to have a PC dedicated to the printer. Before I was always worried that if I did something else with the PC running the printer it would pause and cause defects in ...

Re: Raspberry Pi on Rostock MAX
I'm actually using John's Marlin firmware for LCD:

However, I'm thinking about trying out Polygonhell's firmware since I've heard so many good things about it. Can anyone confirm if his firmware works well with Octoprint?

Raspberry Pi on Rostock MAX
I thought I'd share my experiences with integrating a Raspberry Pi into my Rostock MAX in case anyone is thinking about doing something similar. I created a custom mounting adapter so I could mount it inside the front panel where the LCD goes: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:65730 To power it, I ...
