Re: One rumbling stepper
Thanks, I tried to make sure the idlers were parallel by moving each carriage up and down and making sure the belt stayed approximately in the centre of the idler. The wingnut tensioning was great for that because it let me lift one side of the idler by a tiny amount until it was right. The noise is ...

Re: One rumbling stepper
No spares on hand
It's not a big deal, just became more noticeable recently.

Re: One rumbling stepper
eBay, via China, the usual :) I used metric, M5 SS for the eyebolts running vertically, M3 for the horizontal "axle". M3.5 would have been the closest metric match for the imperial dimension bolt used in the original V2 idlers/bearing. Here are the product links: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm ...

One rumbling stepper
Hi all, I've just about finished a large upgrade to my V2. 24V PSU, Duet electronics, dampeners on the tower steppers, my own belt tensioning arrangement, e3d V6 and so on. The Duet and or the stepper dampeners have done an amazing job bringing down the mechanical noise. By far the loudest component ...

Re: Group buy wishlist
Yeah, the wishlist is intended for Australia, really. As for the Filastruder stuff, I hadn't realised that they (the makers of Duet and the like) were in the UK :) Thanks for the advice. Postage from the UK is indeed cheaper than from the USA. For reasons that I still don't understand, postage from ...

Re: [Aus] MatterControl Touch T10 tablet
Good endorsement, it does work, but at this point in my life I'm more comfortable with a mouse and keyboard, and I've no shortage of laptops around

Group buy wishlist
Hi guys, I've only had my printer up for six weeks or so but I already have my eye on some upgrades. The problem with all of them is sourcing something local that hasn't had an insane markup put on it, or paying ridiculous shipping from the States. I thought we could maybe consolidate a wishlist of ...

Re: Local source of PEI sheets?
Yeah, I bought my 300mm PEI square from Fabricat3d; a nice guy in East Brisbane. The cheap PLA I bought off him has been nice so far, as well.

[Aus] MatterControl Touch T10 tablet
Hi, I recently bought and assembled my Rostock Max V2, and I'm having a great time with it. However, I feel that the MatterControl T10 tablet is redundant in a house with spare laptops lying around, and will be even less useful if I upgrade to a control board like the Duet with ethernet. So, are ...

Re: Hey look, another PID Autotune problem...
Hey look, exactly synchronised builds :) I finished assembling my printer last night, struggled with calibration settings for the hotend this morning (same issues as you, the calibration manual's suggestion to drop the Ext Driver Max setting to 128 wasn't enough on its own, had to drop the Ext Max ...

Re: Rambo not detected by Windows; first use
OK, making progress
The printer didn't show up in Device Manager, but did show up under printers and devices, have uploaded the driver, thanks for the assistance.

Re: Rambo not detected by Windows; first use
I have the driver and the calibration manual. The first step in the manual is to plug the printer in by USB and turn it on, wait for the unknown device to come up and then install the driver. I'm not seeing any device (unknown or otherwise) get detected. Is there a way to install the driver without ...

Rambo not detected by Windows; first use
Hi, I just completed by build this afternoon and have started it up (to be specific a Rostock Max V2 stock standard, RAMBO mobo etc). Unfortunately Windows 10 hasn't detected any activity on the USB ports. I've tried two USB cables, two computers and a variety of ports, still no action. The LCD ...

Yep, that's the advice I keep getting
I'll be following the directions rigorously; this isn't like an Ikea dining set.

I've been lurking for a while, but now that my printer has arrived in Brisbane (and appears to be languishing at the airport; no doubt Customs are using the box as a coffee table while deciding how much tax to charge me) I've decided to say "hello" :) I'll be assembling my printer over the coming ...
