Tincho: check your filament diameter, and redo your dimensional accuracy calibration using this method.

What length of bungees are people using? Most that i see are 10 inches, is that the right length?

Re: e3d v6 fan noise
Someone on another thread mentioned Sunon Maglev fans. I have not tried one yet, but they do make 30x30 fans in 6, 10, and 15 mm thickness with 3 different speeds to choose from. They also make blowers which would be good for a layer fan. Now I just need to figure out what thickness is on the e3d ...

Re: e3d v6 fan noise
They sent me a new fan, and it's much, much quieter. I'd still like to find an even quieter fan, but it's hard to find 30mm, 12v fans, and anything bigger doesn't fit on the effector, so I'd have to redesign the mount completely.

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback
Honestly, I've spent more on my printer in its first month of life that I did no my children. Maybe I should have had a printer shower where people bring me hotends, and PEI and filament

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback
Funny story - my kids are named Eris (5) and Orion (3). I would love to help, but sadly I've got funding issues right now, as my max is only a bit over a month old, and I have spent a lot on that. We've got a maker space at work which currently lacks any kind of a delta printer, and I think this ...

Re: Stepper gear alignment problem
It's pretty hard to get pictured in there. I can hardly get to where I can see inside there. The belt tension is pretty tight. I hand tightened, and then moved the tensioners up maybe 1/4". Wasn't a problem before, but before they were rigid mounted, so I'm thinking that the tension might be enough ...

Stepper gear alignment problem
I added some dampers to my Max v2 this weekend, and they work mostly okay, however on 2 of my steppers I am unable to get the belt to aling perfectly, resulting in a bit of rubbing on the side of the belt. The issue is, that the belt seems to move depending on whether the tower is going up or down ...

Re: e3d v6 fan noise
P.S. It's MUCH louder than the 25mm peek fan on the e3d hotend, so it does seem like it's possibly a bad fan.

e3d v6 fan noise
I just upgraded my max v2 with some dampers and an e3d v6 hotend. The fan on the e3d sounds like a jet engine. Not only is it loud as heck (louder than my steppers now that I have dampened them), but it's really high pitched. Is there a 30mm replacement option for this fan that is quiet, or am I ...

Re: What should I buy?
Thanks Mike - I'm actually concerned about the over/under for a couple of reasons. The first, as you mentioned, is height. The second is more to do with the angular momentum. Mabey I'm not visualizing the physics correctly in my head, but it seems like having the mass lower (further out) on the the ...

Re: What should I buy?
Thanks for the tip. I emailed him off of the 713Maker site.
Not sure who "Mike" is, I'm new here
This is the printable mount I found for a V1, and it does look like it's for a different joint style, though it's an undermount so I'm still not sure if that's really an issue?

Re: What should I buy?
My bad - I was misreading the chart.
So, is there a chimera mount that puts the bulk of the thing above the effector plate, or is the hole too small on the stock plate?
Edit: I ask because the only mount I could find is an undermount on thingiverse, and it's for the max not the V2.

What should I buy?
I've got a Max V2 with the stock hot end, and I'm ready to upgrade, as I want to start printing nylon and other materials. I'm NOT ready to get into dual extrusion right now, but I do want to do so later. If I never planned to get into dual extrusion, I would simply buy an E3D v6 and be done with it ...

Re: Considering a Max Metal, but would like to make it black
I'd look at cerakote as another option. It's meant for firearms use, so it's pretty wear resistant, and it's only 1-2 mils thick. The blasting to prep the surface should be enough to compensate for that 1-2 mils.

Re: Does Your Rostock MAX v2 Hold Its Calibration?
I find I have to do a minor calibration tweak every couple of days. I've only had mine for less than a month. I've been meaning to re-tension the belts, and recheck the towers for squareness, but so far have not had the time when it just takes a minute or so to recalibrate (I have a mount for a dial ...

Re: Slow bed heating: solution!
I just set both of these to 255 on my machine, but the bed was already heated at the time, and it worked fine. Once I let the bed cool and tried coming up from room temp, I blew the 15a fuse on the rambo. Seems like if running max puts you right at the edge of the 15a limit, that's probably why they ...

Re: Hello from Issaquah
So far so good - I printed all weekend long, with no failures that were not user induced. I really do think I want the dampers, but since I have some cork laying around I may try that before I drop $$ on a set of dampers. I wavering between trying PEI or a 24v bed. Waiting for the bed to heat is ...

Re: Hello from Issaquah
Good to know about the fan on the 24v. I was thinking of going 100% 24v, since I'm planning to replace most of the 12v only components (heater, fans) anyhow. I don't mind the stepper noise, I actually really like it, but I've also heard that the dampers give better print quality, so I'll probably ...

Hello from Issaquah
Howdy - I received a Rostock Max v2 kit for my birthday, thanks to my wonderful family pooling their resources. The printer is amazing, and the build was super fun. I built it (mostly) stock to start with, but I changed a few things. 1. Nothing is hard wired. The only soldering I did was the ...
