Re: a question on xy scaling
I'm having a similar issue. Were you able to fix your problem with that adjustment? Since your part is distorted by a different amount in the X and Y, I would think that adjusting the single diagonal rod length value wouldn't let you scale on the X and Y axis separately while keeping Z the same.

How to correct for distortion in the Y dimension?
I've been trying o print an endcap for a square PVC fencepost. The cap will fit inside the post and I've measured it to be a 96mm square. When I print the piece, it comes out 96 mm in the X dimension but 97 mm in the Y dimension. This is a on a V1 Max. I've searched the forums a lot to find what I ...

Re: Printing Jams with TPU Filament
Thanks. After looking at the various solutions, I flipped the output of the EZStruder to the 3mm filament size, drilling the plastic out to the diameter of a bowden tube and cut a small piece of the tubing to fit in-between the brass bowden connector and the hobbed gear. That has been jam free so ...

Printing Jams with TPU Filament
I got a roll of the "SainSmart Flexible TPU Filament" to try out. It has a lot of great properties. It doesn't require a heated bed, it's really strong and it's flexible. It almost prints with no problems. I was a little worried about the EZ Struder handling it but the reviews said it worked better ...

Well the 3D Printer gods have smiled on my today. I put the board back in the printer, hooked everything up and it started working again. I'm not going to question it. I never did hear back from Ultimachine.

Re: Heat bed not working
I'm new here and am still learning may way around the RAMBo, but I notice that fuse F3 is missing from the fuseholder. Pretty sure that is for the hot end and not the heat bed, but maybe related to whatever caused the problem... That fuse was blown about a year ago and to get things running again I ...

Re: Heat bed not working
You can f ind the schematic here: http://reprap.org/wiki/Rambo_v1.2 The purpose of those diodes between power and ground near the fuses is to protect the board from stupid hookup mistakes. Hook up input power correctly, the diode does nothing. Hook up input power backwards, it conducts and causes ...

Re: Heat bed not working
It's a surface mounted diode. It'll be virtually impossible to solder yourself unless you have a hot air rework station. Ultimachine does repair RAMBO boards. Does the light for the bed come on? Thanks. That's what I was afraid of. No the light doesn't come on. >> Ultimachine does repair RAMBO ...

Heat bed not working
I'm having trouble tracking down a problem with the heated bed in my Rostock Max (v1). Is the component I have circled in this photo used in heating the bed? It's hard to see in the photo but it looks a little bit "bumped up" in the middle with maybe a tiny crack in it... like it has been fried. I'm ...

The insulating layers are a good idea. I wonder which part had the biggest effect? I'd guess the circuit board material probably helped the most.

Interesting New Delta Printer with Autoleveling
This one is on kickstarter but here is a video showing how it autolevels the bed with a little flip-down probe.

A smaller delta would be even better. At this point, it takes too long to print something that fills up the volume of the Max. Maybe 680 is the build volume in inches.geneb wrote:From the photo I saw this morning, it's actually a MUCH smaller delta.

Re: That's all for now!
My guess is another (larger) delta printer and the 680 stands for the the mm of probably its height. That would put it at about double the vertical size of the Max. Maybe XD is for "X-large Delta".

Re: Cause of "The Lean"
I started having a very similar problem about a month ago. The first couple layers would print correctly and then every one after that would shift very slightly in the same direction. At first I thought it was something mechanical and I tried everything to fix it. Then I discovered a few of my ...

Re: OctoPrint - Running (Almost)
I finally got it working at 57600 baud and it seemed to work well but I sensed that it was printing a little slower than normal.
Then after several hours of printing, it just quit and I ended up with an unfinished print so now I'm switching back to printing from the SD card.

Re: EZ Struder Unstrudeling
After a little more investigating, I think a lot of my problem with the teeth/slipping was caused by a slightly clogged PEEK & nozzle and printing at too low a temperature. There was just too much pressure to push the filament through the hot end.

Re: EZ Struder Unstrudeling
I have the same issue with filament on the EZStruder. The teeth on the gear get gummed up pretty quick. Does the clear plastic shield on the EZStruder serve any purpose? I've taken mine off so that I can clean the junk out easily on the fly. Has anyone come up with a little brush or something that ...

What did you select for the serial port and connection speed?
I'm picking
/dev/ttyACM0 and
250000
but I get the message
"Machine State: Error: Failed to autodetect..."
Did you have to do anything else to get the connection going between the Raspberry Pi and the printer?

PEEK and Autotune: hot end won't get to temperature
My PEEK fan wasn't spinning so I replaced it. Afterward, my hot end couldn't get up to temperature because the fan was cooling it down too much. SO, I figured I needed to re-run autotune but that didn't fix the problem. If I set the temperature to 235C then it'll get to 232C and then start cutting ...

I create video course curriculum for a friend of mine. Do you think there is a video course in this? If I can get 500 views of it, it's worth me doing it. OpenScad is open source so I think it's a little harder to sell paid training videos but if you are just talking free views of it then yea, I ...
