Thanks Dale. I will need to get that probe installed. Sounds like life gets easier once I do.

Re: Nozzle is high when printing after calibrating Z=0 at papers width...
Can the z= height be used to adjust the nozzle height before a print? I'm having an issue where after calibration the nozzle will "dig in" to the bed. It presses firmly for the first 2 or 3 layers and blocks the flow of the filament. I'm sure if i raise it 1 mm or so (tinkering will be required) it ...

Re: Temperatures read "Def"
I'm having the same issue. Reading 18.8 for the extruder and 17.6 for the bed. Going to get a space heater and see if it will remedy the problem.

Re: Rostock V3 - Accel probing auto calibration?
Will they be offering a v2-v3 conversion? Auto level and calibration sounds great. Also does anyone know if the accelerometer is in the hot end or will I be able to keep the ED3 i just installed?

Re: M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
Update*** I bailed on the old head after ordering the wrong (24 V) heat cartridge and just bought an e3d hot end. Best decision ever. I'm up and running and I'm very happy with the performance. The smaller nozzle (.4) clogs a lot but I'm ordering a larger set to play with. All in all things are ...

Re: EEPROM Settings and mins and maxes?
So, Power is how much potential energy will be driven into the heater. It's a term that goes into a somewhat complex equation, with I and D. Now, a higher P only goes so far, as PID max sets a cap on the scaling of the equation. PID Drive max sets a limit on the duty cycle of the heaters (At least ...

Re: M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
So I'm giving up. I ordered a 40w heater and a threaded thermistor and will be rebuilding the hot end shortly. My max temps keep getting lower even with the increasing eeprom settings. Has to be a damaged resistor or something. I keep printing and watching the temp drop 20 degrees as soon as the ...

EEPROM Settings and mins and maxes?
Hey guys, I'm searching the forums and internet for clarification on the EEPROM item definitions and mins and maxes and I'm not really finding anything but conflicting information. Is there a breakdown on what the settings do and what the mins and maxes are? I know a stock head has a max temp around ...

Re: M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
I was reading around the forums and I see a threaded thermistor. Any reason I don't want to do this? I figure if I'm taking apart the wiring to chase ghosts its a good time to upgrade? Is it too soon to start that process? I've only had it "working" for a week. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321341736569 ...

I have the Silver brick they are using currently. I did have another fail last night. Not sure if it was a temp drop fail or something else. Ill be looking into it tonight.

Re: M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
So the thermistor default issue goes back to the low temp settings. the default issue happened when the temp dropped below 183 for pla set to 210. Im sure the low p max value (205 i reset it to) was not enough to keep up with the extrusion. I have it at 220 now and the temp is still dropping ionto ...

Re: M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
I am up and printing now. Thank you guys. I raised the PID max from 175 to 205 on the bed and extruder and seem to be good on the temps now (I ran an auto tune on the hot end). I did get halfway through a pla print last night and the extruder stopped and left a double def error. This happened 2 ...

Re: M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
The hot end block is taped up already. I will look into the silicon alternative.
With the eeprom settings is there a max value on the Pid Max or Pid Gain I don't want to exceed? (I see posts of people melting stuff and i really don't want to do that)
Thanks guys!

M303 S200 WONT REACH TEMP AFTER FAN INSTALLED.
Hi guys,
Been working and reading the forums all day. I printed the fan shrouds last night and when they were installed today it reduces the hot end below the calibration threshold. What settings can i change without melting my printer?

NY printer online... almost
Hey guys (and girls), Just bought my first cnc device. Hoping to beat the learning curve and add this tool to my workshop. Grabbed a custom Rostock max with a 36" print height (damn this thing is tall) and I'm hoping this opens some fabrication, production doors for me. Now if you will excuse me I ...
