I tried both Astroprint and Octoprint when I got my first 3D printer a few months ago. Astroprint is much easier to set up and probably good if you want to use their slicer. My LCD has the blue PCB and I made the same mistake. The LCD end is keyed, and I followed the silkscreen on the adapter board end. With the blue LCD board, the LCD didn't even illuminate. I found that two of my limit switch screws would not enter the channel leading to the limit switchs. Rather than try to realign the screws or ream out the holes, I ground a bit off the screw heads. Now there is free movement through channel.
