Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend
Thanks for the suggestions on my jamming issue. Strangely the extruder didn't turn out to be the real problem. I sliced my test object with the slicer in Repetier host and it printed fine so I went back to Kisslicer and re-sliced the object. The code looks pretty much identical to that generated by ...

Re: E3D V4 All metal hotend
Hi guys, been away for awhile due to a new job but finally had time to assemble and install a V5 over the holiday weekend. I deburred and polished the bore, drilled out the nozzle, torqued after heating to 300, etc. Put on a spool of translucent blue PLA and manually fed it in to a pre-heated head ...

Re: Flashed bootloader = dead Rostock
Flateric, if it is an extra Rambo the easy way would be to have someone else do it for you
It isn't hard to do if you have a programmer, it was getting the programmer's drivers correct that was a challenge for me. If you want to give it a go I'll be happy to help if I can...

Re: Flashed bootloader = dead Rostock
Thanks Gimbal, that is very useful data! In the end I just flashed the SeeMeCNC copy of the firmware and my Rostock Max is once again alive. Even better I can now make changes to the firmware and upload those as well. I took a few minutes to do a rough calibration so I could finally make a change to ...

Re: Flashed bootloader = dead Rostock
Flateric - this is where I found the correct driver: http://www.arduinoos.com/2012/11/connecting-avrisp-to-arduino-part-3/ and then you can follow the instructions in SeeMeCNCs video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC4Pv15Ibco Do make sure to save off any important configuaration data or like me you ...

Flashed bootloader = dead Rostock
I've had my Rostock Max running for a while and recently needed to print a larger part requiring a tweak to the delta_radius parameter. Discovered my Rambo was one of the lucky ones that are missing the bootloader. After aquiring an AVRISP MKII I was finally sucessful in flashing the bootloader ...

Re: 3D printer uses
I got mine basically since I love to learn new technology. I've printed a few things: * printed a few pieces to use when setting up my CNC mill to determine fixturing * printed a bunch of custom neckerchief slides for our Boy Scout troop * printed a couple of catapults for my Venturing Crew's ...

Re: KISS slicer questions
Thanks polygonhell, worked like a charm. The 3D modeling side is new to me. I assumed that the conversion to STL would be reasonable accurate. Any other tips like that?

KISS slicer questions
Working out some calibration issues on my Rostock Max and ran into a couple odd things in KISS. I created a simple test object consisting of two cylinders, each with a wall thickness of .55mm. When I slice it in KISS I end up with gaps in the final object. I've also had KISS tell me that it can't ...

Re: Making the Rostock Max quieter
I've been following this thread and have added cork gaskets to my Rostock. Seeing as it is so difficult to get them in the USA the maker in me says "hmm, a couple of CNC cut parts and a mold for the rubber wouldn't be too difficult". Anyone (Flateric?) know what the durometer of the rubber is? I'd ...

Re: One piece teflon liner for 1.75 mm filament
Interesting, I'll give that a go. I've been concerned that my PEEK fan is a bit weak so I've ordered a couple of new ones that will hopefully push more air. I'm using the EZshroud so it should use one fan more efficiently. I did most of my PLA testing at around 190 but Steve at SMCNC said the higher ...

Custom neckerchief slides for our Boy Scout troop, Troop 515 in Tracy CA. They headed off for summer camp and I made a slide for each scout and the leaders. slides.jpg Details: Machine: RostockMAX Material: ABS Total Print Time: about 50 minutes each, 20 hours total - most were printed two at a time ...

One piece teflon liner for 1.75 mm filament
Hi guys, I've been playing with a single piece teflon liner for the stock hot end for the Rostock Max. I've been working at printing PLA and even with a fan and the EZshroud fan mount still have jams. I believe one of the jams resulted in a larger diameter section right near the melt zone where the ...

Re: Cork gaskets to make steppers quiet
eaglesoar, I picked up the cork in a roll at Michaels but most of the big box stores will have it too. A roll 2' * 8' at OSH is about $10. I made an aluminum template on my CNC mill and then cut them out with an exacto knife and a punch for the big hole. daftscience, I've uploaded the stl for the ...

I am using KISS, prime 10, suck 10, wipe 5, 190 temp, 55mm/s, min jump 1.5, trigger 5mm, Cooling fan is on after first layer, bed temp is 60. I've attached the stl file as well. I appreciate you taking a look. I ran another print this morning with fairly large text and it came out ok. The preview in ...

3D text suggestions
Hello all. Been lurking for a bit and have a Rostock Max up and running reasonably well; I can print a hollow calibration pyramid in PLA that is very acceptable. I'm trying to add some raised letters (.5mm tall) to a small collet organizer and after trying some samples I come looking for suggestions ...
