Re: Buy A Rostock Max for Cheap
I agree to sell the printer to you for $300. I responded to your PM; however for some reason my response does not show in my Sent Messages folder. Please let me know if you received my PM.

Re: Rostock Max's Last Breaths?
Polygonhell, thanks for your help. I found out the printer only turns off when I turn the hotend on. I can turn the bed on and move the carriage without problem from Repetier, but as soon as I turn on the hotend it dies. Instead of troubleshooting the hotend short I decided to sell my Rostock Max ...

Buy A Rostock Max for Cheap
Does anyone want to buy my Rostock Max for $300. I was working on getting it calibrated and now it shuts off when I turn the hotend on so there is probably a short somewhere involving the hotend. Quite frankly the Rostock Max requires more tweaking and babysitting than I have time for so I need to ...

Rostock Max's Last Breaths?
As if my Rostock Max hasn't misbehaved enough, now when I flip the on switch it stays on for a couple seconds, then completely turns off and dies. I jiggle all the wires while the switch is still flipped to on to see if I can find a short somewhere, but there's no signs of life...nothing. I can turn ...

Re: Repetier 091 for Rostock MAX now available
haven't seen it posted anywhere, and I just made the switch to .91, but horizontal radius = printer radius - carriage offset - extruder offset, correct? It's working but definitely need to make some tweaks to it - not a fan of some of the "wait for temp" features and the like... Yes, it was a ...

Re: New Rostock Max Firmware 091 Blew Up My Printer
Thank you Eaglezsoar, I found and corrected the problem with your post here: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=4130&start=20 I just changed the following true/false values so they matched the values in my previous version of Repetier Firmware which had the axes configured properly for ...

Re: Layers Thicker Front/Back vs Left/Right
The problem is that when I have a high tower (thick print layer) and lower it (to make an acceptable first layer thickness) then the pre-existing low spots get even lower so I end am scraping the hot end on the glass. I'm trying to work with the high / low spots, but the first layer on the high ...

Re: New Rostock Max Firmware 091 Blew Up My Printer
Brent, thank you for the suggestion. I phoned support and was told it is possible the motor directions were switched in the Repetier .091 Firmware Upgrade. I just re-loaded the Firmware Upgrade so I could take a video. It looks like more than just the x, y, z motors swapping axes. Here's the video ...

Re: Layers Thicker Front/Back vs Left/Right
I'm still having uneven first layer problems. Using Highcooley's bed leveling aid (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:50505) my first layer is noticeably thicker at the z tower and in-between the x / y towers. It is noticeably thinner in between the z / x towers and the z / y towers. I'm using the ...

Re: Layers Thicker Front/Back vs Left/Right
...by the way I moved a round bullseye level around the build plate and the bubble stayed centered according to my visual observation when I moved it front/back/left/right so I don't think the glass itself if bowed. I think the printhead is moving in a bowed fashion, riding higher in the front/back ...

Re: Layers Thicker Front/Back vs Left/Right
...the end stops are calibrated with three point leveling at each tower and the printer_radius is flat at the center and three towers such that a yellow sticky barely drags between the hot end and the glass build plate at all 4 leveling locations. This is why I don't understand why there seems to be ...

Layers Thicker Front/Back vs Left/Right
Any ideas what settings to change when the layers deposited at the front and back of the glass build plate are thicker than the layers on the left and right of the glass build plate?

New Rostock Max Firmware 091 Blew Up My Printer
I haven't done updates in a while so somewhere along the way there were changes to the newer firmware that I need to modify for my Rostock Max. What happened today is I uploaded the new Repetier-091-ROSTOCKMAX firmware (from 11 days ago), clicked the home button in Repetiere, then the arms quickly ...

Re: Best Layer Fan Ideas?

Here's the bottom view of the platform:
I cannot slip the shroud onto the platform because the screws heads are sticking out a smidgeon so they are in the way. Your help in figuring this out is appreciated.

Thanks Eaglezsoar, I also noticed even if the slot in the shroud was wide enough that the screws in the platform will block it from going on all the way. Eaglezsoar, thank you for the info. Here is a pic showing the shroud too narrow to fit over the platform. Still not sure where the problem lies. Is my Rostock Max out of spec? Best Layer Fan Ideas?
I'm getting ready to mount a layer fan to my effector similar to what xnaron did here: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=1704 Those squirrel cage fans are strong, but they are not feather light, so I'm wondering if they can affect print accuracy at higher print speeds and also can the ...
