Re: T-Glase Troubles

Thanks for the input! I neglected to mention in the first post I do have a PEEK fan on it. The part I'm trying to print is actually a new mount for dual E3D heads. I checked the filament and the diameter is pretty consistent. I haven't really played around with the temperature but I might try ...

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

I did a dry run with a Cura 13.03 sliced file. It also stopped about 25% of the way in on a dry run but I captured the following when it halted. 13:26:53.689 : N128146 G1 F2400 *80 13:26:53.689 : N128147 G1 E176.2913 *67 13:26:53.720 : Echo:G1 X-16.85 Y-15.16 E176.2490 13:26:53.720 : ok 62603 13:26 ...

Re: T-Glase Troubles

I bought a couple of spools and have been trying to use it for a couple of prints that are 100% infill. It prints beautifully for about half the print and then for some reason it winds up with a mass of plastic built up around the nozzle and starts dragging it through the print leaving globs and ...

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

After moving the printer to its final location, attaching it to a new computer, setting Repetier up all over again and recalibrating the bed height and leveling I got a chance to run some more tests with Cura. My first test was to generate identical setting files under all of the Cura versions back ...

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

Interesting......Thanks for the clarification. I'll go back and re-run some tests with Slicer. I've liked the results from Cura better overall - much cleaner, less stringy prints. I'll try a dry run on a Slicer file I just generated today that was about 5MB.

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

Thanks cope413! It proves (to me at least) the problem is deterministic and repeatable, therefore solvable! Did you happen to notice the file sizes of the sliced files that worked vs the ones that quit? Most of the files with equivalent settings I have done have come out about the same or larger for ...

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

Noise is a random process and I would expect a noise based problem to occur most any time from seconds after starting to seconds before finishing. I used to create large amounts of noise for a living building big lasers and have spent a lot of time dealing with noise shielding and mitigation in ...

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

The code can be downloaded from my web site. It is a replacement head for the Rostock to mount dual E3D extruders. I will eventually post it to thingiverse when complete and working. http://www.celeritous.com/Public/Rostock_E3D_Head.zip It contains the .STL file as well as the two sliced gcode files ...

Re: Print just stopping dead after about 1 hour.

I am seeing this phenomenon now as well. 1. Rostock 3D Max, Rambo Board, Repetier Host V0.90C, Firmware RepetierMax 0.80 2. I have experienced the printer halting and going into Idle mode with hot end and bed still going 4 times on the same part 3. I have experienced the stoppage at or near the same ...

Top Mount Extruder Wiring Extension

We wanted a way to cleanly move the extruder and head wiring up top to support two top mounted extruders without a huge bundle of wires. We went with the Trick Laser top mount extruders but it could be used with the SeeMeCNC versions as well. I whipped out a simple set of boards on our CNC mill that ...

Re: Problems with Concave/Convex Calibration

Well if I understand it right (which is a loaded statement, code and I get along only so much), you could have done the same thing with the addition of "-0.5" to the end of the next statement. Historically, that value is changed to correct the exact issue you are having. Why start with altering the ...

Re: Problems with Concave/Convex Calibration

So by limiting the print space you changed the geometry of the printer? Wouldn't this only be possible if at the larger radius you had reached a physical limit causing lift of some kind? I'm not sure I understand your question. We fell back to square 1 with a fresh copy of the firmware and things ...

Re: Problems with Concave/Convex Calibration

ok.... color me confused but not terribly surprised..... We deleted the entire Repetier firmware directory, downloaded a fresh copy and compiled the fresh copy without any changes. Measuring cold at the moment, center 1.5mm periphery 1.75 mm decreased default PRINTER_RADIUS by 0.5 to 197.75 and now ...

Re: Problems with Concave/Convex Calibration

We did a couple of quick tests. 1. We compared two different versions of the compiled firmware hex files with different PRINTER_RADIUS numbers (198.0, 200.0). The files are different so the compiler is generating unique code for each. 2. For sake of completeness we also generated 2 copies of the hex ...

Re: Problems with Concave/Convex Calibration

Thanks for all the feedback! Towers are square. We checked that a couple of times. Usually it is dry as a bone here in Lubbock but we did have some rain the last couple of days which raised the humidity substantially so we checked them again just in case. I don't recall seeing any error messages in ...

Problems with Concave/Convex Calibration

Hi all, We're in the final stages of our Rostock Max build and have been going though the calibration and are stalled on the concave/convex calibration. Let me preface our dilemma with answers to most anticipated basic questions: 1. Yes we've looked through the forum postings and while there are a ...
