Re: Stops printing Cura sliced files
Is it always at the same point ? Same layer number ? Do you still have communication between the computer and laptop ?, i.e. can you at least home the towers ? I thought I had something similar yesterday, i.e. it had stopped with the nozzle on the print and there seemed to be a bit of burning ...

Re: Stops printing Cura sliced files
It simply stops during the print. The hotplate and hotend all stay one, and the hotend sits and melts the print.Tinyhead wrote:Does it kill the job as though it finished? Or does the hot end simply stop?

Stops printing Cura sliced files
I've been using Cura for about a month (still using Repetier to print), and it slices really nice.....except.... When I have a longer print, like over 4 hours, it will stop printing. It usually stops about 4 hours or so into the print, and will never recover. This has happened on several models. I ...

Sorry, forgot to mention that this is with ABS. And it is a genuine J-Head from hot ends.com. FYI, I usually print ABS at 225c.

Clogging J-Head
So my j-head has decided to start clogging. I have switched to new filament, but it had been printing just fine. Now, it gets bound up inside the j-head. I noticed that the bowden tube on the printer was full of "filament dust" because the feeder motor was grinding away at the filament since it ...

Re: Clogged Nozzle???
Thanks! After I posted the question, I saw the threads on the mount I bought. I planned on adding the fan, and the mount has a slot for it. Do I need to run the fan all the time, or just for PLA? I want to keep my fans on my print as well. Do I hook the PEEK fan to a different spot on my RAMBO than ...

Re: Clogged Nozzle???
We'll, I've pulled my entire hot end apart and still can't figure out the problem. So, I purchased a J-Head from hotends.com and the laser cut mount from tricklaser. I'm done screwing around and figured a fresh start would be best. Does anyone know if the threads on the j-head are the same as the ...

Re: Clogged Nozzle???
Ok, well I've got it working....for the most part. It appears (strong emphasis) that the temperature might be off. By using my handheld temp reader, it looks like it's up to 30 degrees F...depending on where I check. SO, I upped the temp on a print and it's working OK. Not sure what would have ...

Re: Clogged Nozzle???
If you are using the same PTC that lost some of the little teeth, that is the most like source of the problem. The little teeth that are left could be bent scratching the side of the filament thus restricting it's movement. Hopefully the new PTCs that you have on order will be there soon. You could ...

Re: Clogged Nozzle???
After cleaning out the metal bits, I am now unable to print...at all! The hot end keeps jamming up, and I have no idea what is going on. I've switched out the nozzles (to a brand new, never used one), and it still jams. If I take off the feed tube, and manually push filament into the hotend, it ...

Clogged Nozzle???
If you have what appears to be a clogged nozzle, make sure you check your push-to-connect coupler at the print head. Mine was clogged up and I couldn't figure out what was going on. Well, the 3rd time I took the print head apart, I found some tiny metal pieces inside the tube just before the nozzle ...

I want to print this enclosure (bad!), but I can't open/modify .sldprnt files. Can you possibly post the joint file in .stl format?
Thanks!

I just took the easy way out and re-installed the prior version. Everything working just fine again.
Not sure what they changed that conflicted so much with the settings I was using. Oh well...

New Repetier Version - Support Issue
I just upgraded to the lastest version of Repetier/Slic3r, and I'm having an issue. I didn't change any of my support settings, yet it's not making nearly enough support for my prints. I've changed the overhang threshold and I can't seem to get the right amout of support. I thought that I could ...

I'm going to try lowering it from 200 to 195 and see what happens.
Yeah, PLA is so particular...color and mfg really makes a difference!

PLA Printing Issue
While the accuracy and quality of my PLA prints is pretty darn good, I do have one very frustrating issue: Every time the machine retracts and moves to another spot on the print, it leaves a very fine PLA "thread". At the end, it looks like my print is encased in a spiderweb. I can clean it up by ...
