Re: Automatic bed level issue
Haha sorry. The bed level can compensate but only to a certain degree apparently. If the geometry is off to much it can't fix it enough hence the strange results.

Re: Automatic bed level issue
I'm fairly imbarresed right now. I switched marlin branches and Johann changed one of the geometry settings from 145 to 139 and i didn't see it.
So changed it back and now it prints perfect flat. I'm impressed.

Automatic bed level issue
Hi all, I've just finished my build of the Kossel Mini by Johann Rochol's design. The build is (almost) exactly like his and the software is unchanged except for the definition of electronics type, thermistor and LCD. It runs the auto calibration and can print very well out of the box. But... The ...

Re: M119 doesn't show Z_Min
Thanx for the replies. I've fixed the issue sort of. I am using Marlin but i was using the Marlin Kossel Branch from Johann. I've switched to the Marlin Deltabot branch and now all is suddenly OK. Weird. Must be some setting somewhere that is different. I do have another problem but that's for ...

Re: M119 doesn't show Z_Min
I figured as much but where? There are only 2 reference to Z_min in configuration.h:geneb wrote:You have to enable Z_MIN in the Configuration.h file.
#define Z_MIN_POS 0
#define Z_MAX_LENGTH (Z_MAX_POS - Z_MIN_POS)

M119 doesn't show Z_Min
The subject says it all.
When i run M119 on my Kossel i get:
SENDING:M119
Reporting endstop status
x_max: TRIGGERED
y_max: TRIGGERED
z_max: TRIGGERED
Great but i need to know Z_Min for my Z-probe. How do i get it to show? I'm running the default settings since i've build it exactly like Johann's.

Openbeam/misumi HFS3-1515
After a succesfull Rostock build i want to make a Kossel. But the main part, the openbeam extrusions are not to be found in europe. Misumi HFS3-1515 should be almost the same but i can't order it as an individual. Do you guys know where i can get any of these to be sent to the Netherlands? I've ...

Re: Plastic starvation?
I'm using PLA @200 now but good point. I'll try running it at 5 degrees lower. And than repeat it until 180/185 or so.

Plastic starvation?
I'm still calibrating my setup and it's getting better with every iteration. I've got stringing down now but my first extruder had a non-centered drive gear. So i've build a new one. Direct drive spring loaded with mk7 drive gear like the upgraded makerbot one. But now i het the result as can be ...

Yes. It retracts more than it extrudes. Here is a part of a Gcode file for the skirt. ; 'Skirt', 1.5 [feed mm/s], 10.0 [head mm/s] G1 X33.89 Y9.49 Z0.7 E0 F30000 G1 X33.89 Y9.49 Z0.45 E0 F210 G1 X33.41 Y9.93 E0.0977 F600 G1 X32.86 Y10.24 E0.0939 G1 X32.42 Y10.38 E0.0698 G1 X31.67 Y10.54 E0.1141 G1 ...

Extruder aggressive retract
Hi guys. I'm almost up and running now. It homes, it moves and it heats. The only thing missing in the list is extruding. It does extrude but it seems that the retracts are to aggressive to the extend that the filament is actually moving away from the hot end! What am i doing wrong? Here is my ...

Re: Strange Z-height issues
Haha, at the risk of sounding like Bill Gates who asked once who would ever need more than 256k memory but i don't need the big space. I like it because it is small. Plus, i don't own a huge american house but a small dutch one...JohnStack wrote:Why build a smaller format Rostock? Just curious...

My first "print"!

It's in reverse though. That's kinda strange. But it's nice and level as far as i can judge. Now for calibrating the extruder and making a real print.

Re: Strange Z-height issues
Thanx for all the great help guys! I don't know what happened but yesterday i went back to Marlin (Max Repetier firmware didn't compile?!?) and something happened when i changed the radius! So after tinkering with it for some time (was very late last night) this is my result. http://youtu.be ...

Re: Strange Z-height issues
Repetir Host on Mac works fine, you do need to capitalize all letters used and correctly format GCode i.e. G1 Z50 is not the same as g1 z50 I did not now that. I was to lazy to try capitals... ;) OK I just realized you don't have a Max, so you are having to manually configure the firmware. The ...

Re: Strange Z-height issues
You probably need to adjust the PRINTER_RADIUS or Marlin equivalent, I think it's covered in the latest manual. In know. The problem is that changing it doesn't do anything. O've tried the Repetier firmware and host but that's not a succes yet. After making the obvious changes and copying most from ...

Re: Strange Z-height issues
Yesterday eveneing i've spent some time doing the calibration dance. This time i removed the hotend and replaced it with a micrometer. To compensate for the lower meter i've increased the max height in the firmware by 20mm. This also proves that my firmware uploads are coming through. Right under ...

Re: Strange Z-height issues
Hoi, Hoe gaat het met uw? Heel goed, dank u wel! ;) "Uw" is actually more like "your". It should be just "u". But that's totally off-topic... Firstly is your bed level? Grab something with a straight edge, also make sure each tower is square. Will re-check but i'm fairly sure it's level. For myself ...

Hi all! Before i begin, i must admit that a do not own an awesome SeeMeCNC machine but i am building the Rostock Mini. Since this is basicly the same machine but smaller i hoped it would be ok to post my question here since i'm stuck at reprap.org. The basics of my machine: Rostock Mini build like ...
