Mattercontrol slicer problem?

Post by hmanvel »

Okay so I've been chasing a problem now for several weeks and misdiagnosing it apparently. I'm trying to print the "Mobius strip" (https://grabcad.com/library/11-gear-mob ... -v2-public). I have all the gears done, now trying to make the "arms". I have had nothing but grief, I now have 6 good parts and maybe 10 failures, airprinting, crazy extruding in place making globs, etc. I now see what is happening but cannot fix it. After printing the first layer, the extruder goes to the center of the bed and tries to drill down into the glass, then something pops and the thing moves over and begins airprinting. This is repeatable, I've watched it happen 3 times. I tried to use Slicr instead of Mattercontrol, it drove the head almost off the edge of the bed, another odd failure. I loaded the Mattercontrol Gcode into the online viewing website (very cool) and could not see anything that would indicate a point lower than the first layer, on the second. I don't know how to read Gcode, so really can't diagnose from directly reading it. I'm attaching the file, hoping that one of you PHD types can have a look. Any advice greatly appreciated!

The Slic3r issue is that you're using Slic3r from within MatterControl. MatterControl's integration of Slic3r for deltas broke some time ago and they apparently have no interest in fixing it. This should really be a sticky.
