Imac running El Captain problems . S3D with Max V2

I just picked up a mac to handle larger graphics works . I am running S3D and a Rostock max V2 . The problem I am experiencing is that when I start a usb print it will orint for maybe 10 seconds then stop ? I can hit pause and run and it print for a second more then stop and so on and so on . I found out about app nap and turned that off now I am stumped about what is going on . ANY HELP would be great !

Have you turned off all power saving features of the OS?

I turned off app nap . Not sure what the others are ?
