First layer issue with nozzle being too close

Post by nohc »

So I just switched to an e3d v6 on my v3. Mounted the HE280 probe board using the trick laser kit. Calibration seems to be working fine (rand G29 and then Octoprint plugin) but my first layer is just a faint line and filament oozes out as soon as I have a lift. The 2nd layer come out ok. Prints great after that and I finally got rid of the strings, yeah! So close...

The height of your nozzle has changes by changing your hotend. Obviously using a different hotend changes how the accelerometer triggers. Change Z_PROBE_HEIGHT in your firmware. Check this for details: https://www.repetier.com/documentation/ ... z-probing/
