Trick laser trucks and CF arms with HE280?

Post by disconnector »

Hi all!

I'm upgrading my Rostock Max V2 after many months of great prints. The old hot end started acting a bit odd (not holding temp well) so I figured that a new hot end was in order. I grabbed the HE280 with all of the auto calibration bits because i'd LOVE to spend less time calibrating and more time printing!

I have the Trick Laser "trick trucks" and the 300mm CF arms. I've replaced the lower traxxis mounts with the new ball mounts but left the original traxxis stuff on the truck side. Everything connects and moves properly - in fact the new HE platform seems far more solid than the old one.

The problem now is auto calibration. I've changed the configuration.h to match the new arm length (DELTA_DIAGONAL_ROD 300) and changed the CARRIAGE_HORIZONTAL_OFFSET to 27mm. I've also set the following:

#define PRINTER 2
#define HOTEND 3
#define MOTHERBOARD 301
#define POWER_SUPPLY 1

After setting the Z height I get a pretty nasty crash when I enter the auto calibration routine from MatterControl. The print head comes down, cycles over to the X tower and proceeds to crash into it pretty hard while tapping the build plate.

I know I'm missing something stupid. Can anyone give me some G2 here?

Thank you all!

Oh - I've also upgraded the PSU to a nice 30A unit as well. It's amazing how fast the build plate heats up now . . . .
