It starts ... I will see how it goes

Post by KB9AVO »

On Friday I should have a new Artemis kit in my hands for assembly.
I saw the crew at the MRRF Show at the Elkhart Co. Fairgrounds last weekend. They put up with my questions, and they gave me the feeling of customer support. So I ordered the machine.
Now to see the ease of assembly

Congrats!

It's Friday today, did you get it?

Post your build if you want. It should go together easily. I had one of the first ones and had minor issues, the support is top notch.

Time is 10:31 am, and FedEx will not be here for an Hour or so. Shipping weight was 62 lb. Have informed the powers that be that I will be heading to the shop with it, get a LARGE cup of coffee, and start in. I will see about the listing of build. I must be honest ... I beta test amateur radios and equipment, not my 1st rodeo. SeeMeCNC is 7 miles away, the old shop was the same distance, New shop is killer.. The staff is Class 1 !! I have been CEO and GM of 2 firms. You can feel it in the air if you are allowed to walk in the mfg area.

Back to waiting..

Smiles ... now on 2nd project.
The machine showed up at 430 pm Indiana time and my friend and I drove to my shop for assembly.
The box was untouched as far as damage, IT IS A BIG BULKY 62 lb box. But you knew that.
Unpacked, It was a dream as far as unload.. very easy as the instructions say to assemble.
For those that have did one before, you would have zoomed thru it. We took our time to try try to to keep the stupid factor down.
It took us 5 hours with coffee breaks, and when we turn it on ... no smoke ...

We did find that 2 wires we switched, and one wire worked it self loose to power the bed heater ... real simple fixes
A very easy configuration of the computer to the Artemis, then making sure both my Simiplfy3D and Cura were configured correctly .. then did the bed alignment, loaded PLA filament, used the test part supplied ... and off we went.

Only one problem, you can't hardly hear the machine run, real real quiet

Part came out dang near perfect, no stringers, no flaws....
MORE THAN HAPPY .. now running a harder part and it will be done in 2 more hours..

Grab one ... it is a brute .. and quiet ... and easy (within reason) to assemble
roughly 11" x 20" build space WOW

Excellent news!

Mine still isn't in "production shape" yet, and is noisy. Looking forward to some time off soon to really play with it.
