Emailed this to Steve and co but maybe you guys can help:
Got my RTP V4 today! Annnnnd nothing.
- I downloaded and connected with YAT. I had to just trust that it got the right COM port, no others were apparently available.
- I got to and through these steps:
"Send the following Gcode to the printer: M552 S0 Then send: M587 S"your-network-ssid" P"your-network-password" Be sure to keep the quotation marks and keep a space between items as shown in this example.
Send: M552 S1 and after a few seconds, you should see a confirmation that you're connected, along with the IP address of your printer. Write the IP address down, you'll use it in the next steps"
- But I never got anything back after the last one, and now I don't get anything back at all no matter what I send. I've restarted the terminal and turned the machine off/on. Machine says Connecting perpetually.
- ALSO - no files on SD card at all, and Move Head controls do nothing. It's like the whole thing is bricked or something, even though the touchscreen works.
- Macros - there was a whole list before, now it's empty.
- The touchscreen turns off when the USB is disconnected, but not when the power switch is turned off (What the hell?)
I'm going out of my mind here. This is the 3rd large format machine I've bought and the first two were just crap so I am very very hopeful (and have spent 3x as much for the Rmax...) but what do I even do?
Hope someone can help.
[Solved] RMax V4 can't even freakin' set it up

Re: RMax V4 can't even freakin' set it up
Side notes about the setup BTW:
- Guide just says "connect with YAT (etc)" and tells you the baud rate to set, but literally nothing else about what the YAT settings should be.
- My machine came RTP, but no idea what the blue wingnut type thing or the little flexy items that look vaguely like wrenches are or do.
- Not entirely sure which direction is right for the spool holder, or if it matters
- the micro SD card doesn't have an adapter and is so far in that I cannot access it without poking a little blade in there to pop it out or reseat it.
some of this might be all normal but I don't know much of anything about SMCNC as yet!

Re: RMax V4 can't even freakin' set it up
WAAAAAIT - i'm calling this one tentatively resolved. I dove into the gcode spec and found the command to forget the wifi networks - that brought back the machine's "OK" response! Then I reset the wifi using single quotes to force the lowercase letters to stay lowercase, and it worked! I don't yet know if the whole thing is fully great yet but we're at least back in business!

Re: RMax V4 can't even freakin' set it up
Well, it's printing the Benchy pretty well, bit of stringing and the glass bed is visibly higher on one side than the other; We can close this thread I suppose and I'll start a new one about the bed leveling error I got and the fact that the touchscreen is still pretty much blanked out (everything showing 0, no macros or SD files showing, etc)
