3d scanners for and with 3d printing

I've found an article with tips for choosing 3d scanner to work with 3d printers. Not that detailed by the way
Yes, I'm still thinking about buying one.
The question to discuss do you own, use ore used to use a 3d scanner, and how did you choose it?

Myself I think that to addition to it's size, resolution, portability, etc, it have to support software you use if it's something specific.
Yeas there's some universal formats, but I think the less hassle the better.
