Considering a building a Print Settings Database

I'm on my fifth print of the Rostock fan shroud. It's getting better but I'm wondering if it might not be expedient to have a print settings database so you can enter print settings for the benefit of the community.

What I was thinking was you enter link to the STL (which may or may not retrieve an image), enter the values in, perhaps a photo of the results, and upvotes if people had tried them with any success.

Is this practical? Would it help people be more productive or is everyone off printing stuff on their own for business/professional / personal reasons?

I'd like to see something like this too. I've copied and pasted a few different mentions of other people's settings, but I haven't compiled them into a useful place yet... Maybe I'll work on a form like this.

A think a print settings database is a great idea.
We also need a calibration compilation that some are working on.
The more we consolidate things and place things in a database the more we
all benefit. This forum contains a large amount of knowledge but is too scattered
and difficult to find with a search engine that is one step above retarted.

cool, but is adding all this information to one database? I can see value in this if one is able to query via different parameters (object, object type, media).

Jotform makes a single excel sheet with the data from everyone's submission. Any sorting and filtering that you'd want would be manual. The other problem is that 1, and one, and 1mm, and 1 mm would all show up as different entries, so the data will definitely have some inconsistencies and need some fixing before presenting an accurate result.

This is a great idea guys!
I will be participating once I dial in my calibration issues..
One of the most challenging parts of the Rostock Max learning curve I have ( and am still) had to climb is lack of centralization of knowledge. So this initiative has great Merritt! Particularly, for the new people coming in. I still laugh at (and cringe a little) when I remember updating my firmware to John Olies Marlin build. Then watching ( and madly) grabbing for the power switch when the hot end went crashing at f5000 into the hotbed... Evidently I have the Rambo 1.0
Would have been nice to know before it got my heart racing ( a bit).
Keep it up guys.. I will be joining in soon.
