It only happens with slicer but when the nozzle comes down to print the head races to z tower and crashes if it don't shut it off. checked my firmware and settings and don't see anything wrong....won't do it with cura or kiss....
looked at start up code too...
Any suggestions?

If it only happens with Slic3r it's likely an issue with the generated GCode, can you paste the first couple of dozen lines of GCode from a file that does it here (the ones after the comments)

Re: Slicer want to crash z tower
I figured out why mine was doing it, although not why it is generating code so crazy.
It appears my slicer is trying to generate it's perimeter passes far far outside of the beds workarea. The settings are not calling for such a wild offset from object but the code generated is making the perimeter about 1200-2000mm offset from the object.
Weird.

Re: Slicer want to crash z tower
I discovered the same thing. came here to post, you beat me to it. Had the perimeter outside the build zone even though I had it set to 10mm.
Slicer is so flakey with it's setting. sometimes a change I make reverts back to before for no reason. Is it even worth the trouble?
Anyone like it better than kiss or Cura? so far I like Cura the best.
