Extruder not Extruding

Post by ressiecnc »

Hey Guys,

Does anyone have a stock mach3 xml file and a simlple piece of g-code I can try out?

I can control the extruder from mach3 it moves when I press the keys on the keyboard but when I send the star.nc code it only moves the xyz motors?

I have a stock H-1 and I am using PLA my mach3 is set to use inches.

Thanks,

Ressie

Make sure your Gcode is using the A axis for Extruder moves.

You likely have your Mach configured to treat the extruder as the A axis - this is the "new" (best, IMO) way to configure it. However, some of the original gcode that SeeMeCNC posted was generated before we started doing that, hence no extruder movement! You need to use Slic3r to generate your gcode since the latest version now creates Mach code with the extruder as the A axis.

cheers,
