Greetings From South Africa

Post by garyterry »

Hello everyone,

I purchased an "early bird" ROSTOCK MAX kit from SeeMeCNC and have been slowly putting it together over the last few weeks, I'd say I'm about 85% done with the build. I've completed the mechanical assembly and have been getting my feet wet with the electrical assembly. It's rather daunting for a newb (this is my first 3D printer) but I'm enjoying it. I've had a few issues with missing parts (belt clamps) and bolts (about half of what was required for housing assembly) etc. but so far I'm managing. Looks like I purchased the wrong sized filament as well, 3mm as opposed to 1.75. So I guess l'll have to purchase a 3mm extruder, couplings and Teflon piping to accommodate it. I might as well just build a second extruder/filament unit while I'm at it, eh?

I've just installed the endstop switches with LED light indicators. I'll be working on the heated bed wiring next.
I'm busy setting up a blog to document the build and will post a link once I've got it populated with some imagery. :D

I'm looking forward to my first print.

Howzit, from Vancouver, BC, Canada
How is the build going? I have been trying to dial in my R.Max for some time now.
A couple of the Forum members have pulled together a lot of the information from many different threads. I think you will find it most useful. http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... tion+guide
