So, I'm finally calibrated and ready to print a prototype of my invention. I exported my sketchup model to STL. It looks good when viewed. I run it through Slic3r and the result is 5-14k gcode files that print teeny tiny models about 1/8" in diameter. The diameter I drew it at in SU was 3-5/8" (I used inches in SU not mm).
Anyone know what is happening? I am going to kill myself if I need to draw these in Metric in SU because the parts are all based on imperial measurements.
I haven't tries REPG for this other than to look at the STL and it appears tiny. I am imagining that the export process is somehow shrinking the model. My STLs are 8 megs. I am unable to use measurement tools in the viewer I have on my computer which tells me something is not right.
Any suggestions are deeply appreciated.

Hmm.. it sounds like millimeters vs inches. You can try running it through repg or through http://cloud.netfabb.com/
When I find that I can't slice or the size comes out wrong (mainly items from thingiverse) I run them through netfabb.

set you scale in slic3r to 25.4 to convert your imperial part to metric

Well, it was because SU was set for inches. The plugin doesn't work well exporting in inches, regardless of the export units. I thought I was unable to convert the model in SU to metric, but it was easy. I went to the Window menu, selected Model info, then Units (on the left hand column), select Decimal and Millimeters. Voila.
My first print from one of my models and it turned out so sweet! I am very impressed with the job the H1 did for me. I was most impressed with the bridging I didn't expect (thanks to Slic3r). Dimensions are dead on and the quaity is great. I'll post pics soon, but this is a double secret prototype, so I have to be careful what I post.
I'm gonna start losing sleep...this is really awesome.
