Rambo motor connection

Post by Xavier »

Ok, is it just me or does everyone think those plugs for the motors are obnoxious to deal with? Really, the "official"crimping tool for the terminals costs over $290.00 plus shipping. I know there are less expensive tools available but I don't have one. Not easily fixed if something goes wrong... Needs terminals... Definitely not hacker friendly. Please give me screw terminals next time.

Just my rant... My motors are not running yet...

I don't know where you've been looking, but this crimp tool: http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... _159266_-1 does the job perfectly. I think it's also the same one I list in the manual.

Thanks for the info.

I have had vast experiences with that type of connector. Hate them! Break a wire and you have to cut the whole thing off and replace it. Extra parts, extra time, Shorter wires. Got noparts you loose big time. The only winner is the manufacturer. Smaller board, probably easier.

I freely admit my relationship with those connectors is a personal hatred! I had a machine to maintain which had about sixty sensors. It broke about three wires a week on my watch. Shut the machine down every time. I hate those connectors!

It's personal...

yeah the correct tool, is pretty pricey, but i found one on ebay not too long ago, that was in the $50 range, I wish i saved it. The jameco crimper works but its not correct one to use.
