RAMBo Diagnostics

Post by altarke »

Is there such an animal - a Diag that can help trouble shoot a board - I am having a problem with my newly build printer I could not get it to calibrate not even once - as I run the home command (m28) I get the motors to vibrate and noting happens...
Any ideas anyone?

This is very frustrating

You mean G28?
I'd double check my motor wiring first. Vibrating motors may be a sign of improper or broken motor connections.

Not sure how to check it out - I know that making the connections was a bitch ...

I had an issue where one of the motors would just shutter in place and fall a little bit when I hit G28. I thought it was moving down (which it was, a little) so I tried switching the wires and then doing the firmware invert with no luck...

Turns out that I had a damaged stepper motor wire. It was open, so the motor was only able to power one of the coils. Check your motor(s) in question with an ohm-meter to see if they're "visible" at the connector.
