when does my LCD come on?
when does my LCD come on?
I've just started calibrating my printer and have been so busy looking at Repetier, that I just noticed my LCD is not showing anything. Is the LCD supposed to come on as soon as I power the printer? If so, how do I isolate the problem between the LCD, Adapter, or board?
Re: when does my LCD come on?
I have the Rambo 1.1 board with the jumper set to power from the ATX supply. When I power up, the LCD first flashes two rows of white boxes, then briefly indicates the version of firmware loaded in the Rambo board. Then when the boot is complete, the LCD indicates printer ready and shows temps of hot end and bed. At this point, manual control of the machine by pressing and turning the knob is available. This is the same whether the computer is hooked-up or not.
having a 3d printer means never having to put duct tape on the remote.
Re: when does my LCD come on?
if you have it connected correctly it should at least power on (backlighted). as soon as you apply power to the board. For this purpose it doesn't matter if your using usb power source or the atx power source. If yours is not powering on at all then, something is amiss with your wiring. (connectors plugged in incorrectly or solder job needs more work)m4r1n5 wrote:I've just started calibrating my printer and have been so busy looking at Repetier, that I just noticed my LCD is not showing anything. Double check your adapter and cables. I labeled mine wrong when following the manual because I held it the same way as one picture, then labeled it using the positions of another picture. I was really hoping to avoid sharing that one, but if it helps someone.....

Good feedback all.
I was told that SeeMe is making the ribbon cables shorter due to noise issues.
I recommended a different solution to someone but this might also work:
Flexo Shield
