New Extruder Wire Management

Post by drandolph »

So my build is coming along nicely however I got the new bowden mount where its hung from the top plate and the spool sits on top of the machine. My problem is how are people running the wires down to the RAMBO? Also how are people getting the filament from the top plate to the bowden extruder? There is no path or cutout for this. Check page 88 figure 11-14 to see how it mounts. http://download.seemecnc.com/Rostock-MA ... -Guide.pdf also check out figure 11-12 and 11-16. Anyone else working with this option and how did you handle it?

The filament goes through one of the little rectangular slots near the spool holder in the top plate.

I'm currently WAY behind on my "Upgrades" chapter and that shows the method I use to route the wiring for the hot end and the extruder drive motor.

You can see a short video that I did here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FITeyMiwr64 The video shows the mounts I printed in order to route the extruder motor wires.

The plastic parts used for that are currently available here:

The file you want is "wire guide post mounting clip.stl"

You'll also need a 3/8" diameter dowel.
