Scaling mishaps

Post by theverant »

So I print off the 20mm cube as per Polygonhells directions. My wall thickness seems spot on @ .55mm, but my xy scale seems to be consistently %3 off (cube comes out a pretty uniform 19.5mm). Is this a problem, or is this normal shrinkage?

That's normal shrinkage. When I measure my test pieces anywhere that doesn't include the first layer, they will be about that much off. If I have that first layer in my calipers my am usually within a .03 mm.

edit: For ABS....
