I'm wondering if we might not break out modding into sub categories. (@Flateric inspired me to post this)
What would the taxonomy be?
Physical:
Mods
>Arms
>Steppers
>Software Only
>Hot Ends
>Etc
Or Functional:
Mods
>Precision
>Speed
>Calibration
>Haptics

Re: Subforum Discussion: Mod Categories
I think it will be easier to determine which area to post in if you go with physical. For example, switching hot ends might affect speed and precision.

I personally think that it is fine the way it is. Such detail is unnecessarily complicated. I like the principle of KISS.

@Eaglesoar - I like Kiss too. I think it is easier to post with fewer categories and harder to find things when you do.
Easy if you're in the forum all the time, not so easy if not. You have to rely on search otherwise.
Searching doesn't lend itself to just cruising around; neither do the broad categories.
This is one of the most active forums outside of some of the google forums (which are truly hard to find stuff in). I'd like to see a structural change to this relating to a taxonomy people can understand. All it requires is bit more discipline by posters to get it going.
