hot end and fans stopped working
hot end and fans stopped working
this started just after I printed my first cube. When I try to tern on the fans or hot end in manual control or when printing the fans and hot end don't get power from the board. I have tried up dating repetier and the firmware. I tried replacing the RAMBo. I was running two fans out of one fan port (FAN 0). Just before they stopped working when I termed on the fans it put 12v to the hot end. If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciate.

Re: hot end and fans stopped working
Jake, it sounds like a short in the wiring from the Rambo.
Carefully check the wiring going to the hotend and ensure
the wires are as they should be. You have tried two Rambos
both with the same problems, that indicates a wiring problem
or open resistors on the hotend. Also check the fuses on the
Rambo making sure they haven't blown. If you do have a short
the fuse on the Rambo cards is most likely blown.

Re: hot end and fans stopped working
That was my first thought so I took the voltmeter set to ohms and put it to the body of the hot end and the positive then the negative on the board and had no continuity. However not the wires in between the board and head could be shorted I am going to check that now. thank you
Okay just tested it is not shorted I am getting 5 ohms out of both resistors none of the fuses are blown.

Re: hot end and fans stopped working
You're going to need to pull out the pen and paper and that multimeter and start playing the process of elimination game.
Check the voltage at the screw terminals and the end of the connectors and last place possible in the circuit such as directly at the resistor leads.
Then do the same with only one item plugged in at a time, hot end only, fan only, etc.
If everything appears to be working correctly, the only other thing off the top of my head is a break in a wire somewhere. Those are a pain in the buns and cause weird intermittent behavior that is not fun to trace back to.

Okay I am not understanding your suggestion. The voltige at the screws in zero. The board is not putting power to the hot end or fans with none of the fuses blown to me it seams like its not in the wires

Jake, is it possible you accidentally put the host in Dry Run? This turns off the Hotend and Heatbed.
Re: hot end and fans stopped working
What happens if you do a PID calibration command?
If still nothing happens, you could try to unplug the fans and hotend, and then test the terminals to see if any of the set are getting a voltage.

Re: hot end and fans stopped working
Host is not set to dry run and the bed works I am testing the PID now.
I am running M303 S200 to try the PID but log reports nothing because the command is waiting. Am I using the wrong command?
