Astrosyn Dampener Order

Post by cope413 »

I'm about to place an order for dampeners. As of now, I've got 5 people who want a set, which makes the cost £3.65/ea (gonna round up to $6/ea). That includes shipping from the UK to California. I will flat rate ship them to you anywhere in the US for $5.50.

I'm not a math whiz, but a set of 4 will set you back $29.50. If you don't want for your extruder, then 3 will run you $23.50.

The cost comes down about $1/piece for every person who jumps in because shipping from UK to US is high.

If you're interested, please let me know by Friday, 9/13 and I'll send you a paypal invoice.

For anyone who doesn't have these yet, jump on this. You will be VERY happy with the results. 4 for under $40 is a good deal.

Is it pretty easy to see a noticeable increase in speed / quality with these?

How easy are they to attach?

Will they work on a geared stepper too or just the stock Nema 1:1?

Their intention is not too increase speed or quality, the intention is to significantly reduce the noise levels which they do magnificently.

To attach, you will have to remove the stepper which means the belt will have to come off. The damper will go between the stepper and
base, the pulley will need to be readjusted to be in the center of the idler, the belt goes back on and the tension redone.

They will not work with a geared stepper because a geared stepper uses a different hole pattern then the other Nema 17 motors. You
would have to make some sort of an adapter.

The dampers have been ordered. I sent out paypal requests to LordBinky and Camais this morning.

They are expected to ship tomorrow from the UK.

If you haven't already, please make sure to PM with your address so I can ship them.
