I thank you and all that have left messages to get better. I have developed severe spine problems over theTKL wrote:Don't think about it Carl. I hope you'll get well soon.
last 3 months and the pain is incapacitating. They are doing a battery of tests but so far all they can do is
injections and oral morphine. I'll try to let you know what I find out is causing all this when I hear for sure.
I really hope that SeemeCNC can buy the extra boards as I was going to do. they can put them on their site
and I think they would be a good seller.
Anyway, in our sell forum is the ad for my other H-1 which is still in kit form at a great discount so if anyone has
a friend that needs one, they can save a significant amount of money. I personally don't feel they are going to
control this pain very well which means I can't work very long on my projects and trying to focus is near impossible.
I would like to stay on this forum because I learn a lot, perhaps can contribute something at times and reading all
this gives me something to do. God bless you all.

Now all we need is a source for some 7" x 7.5" glass able to withstand the heat. Currently I use glass from one of those garage work lights, but its alot smaller than the bed and I would love to able to use the full bed

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
I plan on using a 6x6 initially, its what I bought from McMaster-Carr. Maybe later I will shoot for a 7x7 pane. That will allow me to make mounts that are semi flush with the glass and don't protrude using the remaining 1/2 inch.

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
I am going the mount the board on the plastic plate on the H-1 (or some other plate) with some 5mm spacers. It will give a strong sandwich solution once the screws are tightened. Before tightening them you should be able to adjust the board to be straight. I hope that will be enough but only time will tell.
Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
I chipped in for one board.
I'll try to check back before the week is up to see if we are still short on funds.
I'm out of the country at the moment and internet access is spotty at best.
Thanks TKL for all the work you are putting into this.

Don't expect the circuit board to stay flat when heated. Also count on any plastic that close will also warp. BTDT.

Yes, the board can warp, but that is less likely when properly attached to the machine. I believe the design provides enough tie points to eliminate this issue.Leeway wrote:Don't expect the circuit board to stay flat when heated. Also count on any plastic that close will also warp. BTDT.
As for warping plastic, I have a nichrome wire heated bed (that gets extremely hot) within 3/8" of the original unprotected plastic bed of the H-1 and have not had any warping.
If you don't provide an air gap between the heated bed and the original plastic bed, it will warp. This design allows for spacers and helps eliminate this issue also.

I've also chipped in for one since it seems worth a try at that price.

Looks like we are at ~50% funding, is this the level we wanted to be at? Will the folks at SeeMeCNC pickup the remaining boards?
Also a quick note: If you have not contributed and are planning on doing so. Do so soon!! The funding period ends in 30 minutes!

Now you just wait 3 weeks for the boards to be delivered to you.
Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
is it too late to get one of these?
Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
DrKow, John here. We bought the last 11 boards to make up the run, so once they come in, we will test them out, and if all's good, we will put them up for sale on our website.
