Slic3r fill problem...

Post by DavidF »

Ok maybe im missing something, but I had slic3r configure to print at 100% infill, then changed it back to 10%, closed slic3r, then reopened, inserted object and sliced and it still seems to be trying to infill solid? If you look at the code it is set for .1 infill but using the slider shows 100% infill.
This is one of those things that I just dont understand with slic3r. For my first 20 prints or so it never enabled the retraction like it was supposed to then all of the sudden it just decided to work. I didnt see this until I put a piece of tape on the extruder and kept playing with the settings and noticed no change. What is up with this software?

ok it wont let me attach the g code because of the file extension. I can email it to you if you want to see it...

I might have it figured out, is it possible that the file is a solid part that I cant remove the inner fill on thru slic3r?

Edit: yes I think its just the file im using http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5176 I selected the solid one... funny though when I slice it in cura I can print it hollow but the printer will just stop right in the middle of the print sometimes. When sliced in slic3r with .1 infill it prints solid just fine. going to try the other file version....

Edit: ok tried the other file and sliced with slic3r. It disassembled the model and turned it into a blob on the table. WEIRD!!
