Plastic Swells in Orion Brass Nut. HELP
Alright, so my boss was so thrilled at how well the Rostock Max printed after we had taken the advice of this forum that he bought two more printers. This time however he invested in the Orion. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL along with their accuracy. I would highly recommend them, however, they have a huge issue with clogging. Everyday each get a swollen piece of plastic in the Brass Nut above the extruder after like 3 minutes of finishing a print. I guess it is from the heat, and I was fine with retracting 60 mm so I wouldn't be in contact with the nut. However after 2 more clogs I'm pretty fed up with spending 10 minutes to pull out a piece of plastic that could probably be avoided. I've never had this issue with the rostock max so I don't understand what's up... Any thoughts? :/

Is there a fan on the PEEK section of the hot end?

Re: Plastic Swells in Orion Brass Nut. HELP
Okay, so I've been playing with it for hours now, and I've found that the issue isn't the brass nut, its something with my extruder. It is to a point now that my stepper makes the thunk noise and it may just be a jam in the extruder rather than the brass nut where build up was accumulating when I would pull the filament out to see what was going on. It is strange however because it prints, just with horrible flow...

What is worse however is that at times the display screen shows tons of strange characters and such... then goes blank but is clearly still on. I don't know if this is a deeper issue.

I think its time to contact the guys at SeeMeCNC and report these problems.RayaSanguin wrote:What is worse however is that at times the display screen shows tons of strange characters and such... then goes blank but is clearly still on. I don't know if this is a deeper issue.
There are very few, if any, owners of the Orion on this forum but I'm sure that
will change with time. The guys at SeeMeCNC are great and will help you with
whatever you need. Once you get the bugs worked out, you will have one fine
printer.

I feel stupid, but may someone later on will read this forum page... I found that if you open the cabinet and check the inside power plug that if it wiggles the display screen will freak out and lessen voltage for accurate temp... XD MY ORION WAS POWER HUNGRY!
