Kiss slicer weird output

Post by chbeckdb9 »

Attached are a few pictures of odd G code output I am getting from Kiss. One shows the object as it should look, then the other shows the G code as kiss is producing it. I'm not sure what is going on here, everything I slice with Kiss has the same issue. Has anyone else had something like this happen ?

Thanks!

 That's a good one to post on the kisslicer forum. Even if you get an answer, I'd do it just to see the reaction.

What infill are you set at?

Do you mean the Kisslicer subforum on seemecnc?

It produced this exact output regardless of .1 infill or 1.0 infill.

I was referring to the actual kisslicer.com/forum. It seems pretty active if you have specific slicer issues with kisslicer, and it might get seen by the guy who codes it.

Have you run the model through netfabb?
KissSlicer is heavily dependent on a model being "well formed", more so than most other slicers, and a lot of thingiverse models are bad.

You say this happens to anything you slice using KISS, are you sure KISS settings are correct? For example, one common mistake I find people have is not setting their Firmware type properly in the Printer settings tab. By default it is set to "Bits for Bytes" or something like that, which is not the same gcode output as the one you actually want "5D Absolute E".

Thanks for all the replies. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24238 This is the .stl I was using. The kiss is set to 5D absolute. I've been occupied with other stuff recently, and haven't had the time to test it. One thing I also noticed when I've been using Slic3r is that it always puts a raft under the object, even I don't have the " raft box" checked. This is annoying when trying to make thin prints that require a smooth bottom.

Are you printing with a brim? Depending on the model, it could be easy to confuse the two...
Trust me, sir. I'm a wizard.

Hey,
The brim setting is turned off. Still not sure what the issue is. When I alter the settings on the raft, it makes no changes etc. Like for example if I change it to octagonal style of raft.
