Has CAD reached the tablet/mobile world yet?

Post by Jimustanguitar »

Does anybody know of decent design software that's Apple or Android friendly? I'd love to dink around with a stylus and create some simple models. Any ideas?

I've used Autodesk 123D Design on the iPad. It's okay for sketching out ideas.

If what I've heard about the T&Cs on 123D is true, AutoDesk can do whatever they like with the ideas you're sketching out...

I've been sort of interested in AutoCAD 360, which replaced Inventor Fusion. It's all web based so no platform issues. You have to pay for a pro version. I haven't really checked it out, might be worth a look?

Kinda like how when you get a commodity Linksys/Cisco router these days, they get to do whatever they want with the logs they keep of everything you do online, including transmitting the logs to Cisco so they can sell you out. The Devil is in the fine print.

I have been looking at the new computer/tablets for just this reason. Having a tablet that i could pull up prints, draw something, or send a Cam file while i move around on the shop floor would be awesome. It defiantly would increase productivity and i wouldn't have to worry about hot chips burning the keyboard or coolant getting in the keyboard.
