How to set Extruder/Hotend 2 on Rambo as primary?

Post by cassetti »

Hey all,

It's been a while since I've played with firmware and I'm a bit rusty. If you recall from my last thread, my hotend shorted against the thermistor and fried the temp sensor on the Rambo. The bed thermistor appears to read correctly.

I've purchased a ceramic heating core from Hotends.com and I've got plenty of PTFE and kapton tape (and a fresh 100k thermistor). I plan to re-wire my hotend and connect the hotend and thermistor to the HEAT 1 and Therm 1 (used normally for a second hotend)

What's the easiest way to configure my firmware (Polygonhell's edition from March 2013) to set those as primary?

Or should I simply adjust my slic3r printer settings?

Thanks guys! Really excited to bring my Rostock back to life ASAP, my brother in law from Latvia is living with us through the holidays and I'd love for him to see it in action

Wouldn't it be as simple as swapping the pins in pins.h?
Purple = sarcasm

Please do a board search before posting your question, many have been answered with very time consuming detail already.

I've never explored the pins.h file before. That looks like it should work.

Does anyone have any advice before I go mucking about breaking my Rostock even more than it already is?

Setting the new cartridge heater element and thermistor in RTV today. My XT60 connectors still haven't arrived in the mail, so I guess I'll be hard-wiring everything for now until the connectors come in. I miss not having a working printer!!
