Greetings from South West Florida

Post by travelnaut »

I traded a printrbot and some cash for a friends rostock max

after a few weeks of cleaning up wiring, updating the firmware on the Rambo board, adding the LCD panel I have to say I am quite happy with the results

my first and second prints came out pretty good!

anywho, still some weird issues to figure out, repetier host is dropping the stl and generated gcode outside of the print area for some reason...

if I slic3 it using the standalone slic3r its fine though...

anywho, so far so good with the rostock max, excited to start making my own designs, anyone have a favorite program for creating shapefiles?

Someone posted a solution to this somewhere else (I don't remember where :-P). But it basically comes down to some weirdness in Repetier Host. Do this:
1) Bring up the Printer Settings and go to the "Dimensions Tab"
2) Switch the printer type to "Classic Printer"
3) Setup the dimensions as 280x280 with the "Bed Front" and "Bed Left" as -140 and -140.
4) Apply those settings.
5) Now switch the printer type back to "Delta Printer..."
6) Setup the Diameter as 280
7) Apply those settings and close the dialog.

That *should* fix the placement problem (at least it did for me :-D).
