Is there a list of machine specifics?

Post by McSlappy »

I was attempting to do a full extruder calibration as recommended in the assembly manual:

http://reprap.org/wiki/Triffid_Hunter%2 ... tion_Guide

However, I have no idea where to find the answers to these, questions:
- Know your stepper motors' full steps per revolution value. steps = 360 / angle, so 1.8° = 200 steps, 0.9° = 400 steps, etc.
- Know your stepper drivers' microsteps setting. Most Pololus are set to 16x. GEN3 driver 2.3 is fixed to 2 (half step). Some boards have 32x.
- Know the number of teeth on your pulleys. Standard printed pulleys have 8 teeth. Most machined pulleys have 10 or 12 teeth since 8 tooth is technically too small for T5 belt
- Know your belt pitch! XL and T5 belts /look/ the same, but the difference is important!
- Know the number of teeth on your extruder gears, or at least the gear ratio.

Is there somewhere to find this all in once place? Is it written in the manual and I missed it?
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

I think most of it is in the manual in various places, and some is in the firmware configuration.

Basically, it is 200 steps per revolution, with 16 microsteps. If you have the all-metal pulleys you have 20 teeth. The metal & plastic pulleys are 15 I think. The belts are GT2 which I believe means 2mm pitch. I don't think you worry about the gear ratios on the extruder for the MAX. Bear in mind that not everything in that guide applies to Delta printers.
