Has anyone had any experiance with this hot end?

Post by AndThenSome09 »

I wash searching around for all metal hot ends as I want to be able to print nylon. I ran across this hot end being sold on eBay, it looks like it is good but we all know looks can be deceiving! Does anyone know anything about this hot end or the company offering it?

It's an E3D knock off, but given the issues people have had with knockoff hotends, I'd be wary.
There are a number of critical dimensions that you can't easily measure, and many of the knock off JHeads for example seem it ignore them resulting in almost unusable hotends.

I dont think this is any cheaper than an E3D All Metal Hot End so I guess I'll just go with an E3D.

Unless someone knows of a better alternative for all metal hot ends at a reasonable rate.... :?:

1 thing from the pics on the ebay ad that bother me is that none of the tips are tightened up snug against the heater block. Leads me to believe that the tolerances are perhaps not entirely correct. Clear is a E3D hotend knockoff.

Hey Flateric, I picked up one of the Bulldog XL extruders, have you figured out why there are two adjustments on the side and how to adjust it?

That hotend you were looking at in no way is an E3D and what they want for it is ridiculous, stick with the E3D.

Just as a note Flateric, e3d's assembly instructions for their v5 actually note not to tighten the tip all the way to the heater block, but to leave a very tiny gap. See assembly instructions: http://files.e3d-online.com/Drawings/E3 ... Manual.pdf

"the nozzle
should tighten up
against the end of the
break inside the block
to form a seal. It
should not tighten up
against the block."

Otherwise I agree with everyone, just get an e3d.

Thank you for the info, there has been some messages about tightening the heat break too tight also and they ended up breaking it. It's good to read the manual.
