So, I'm printing off the SD card just fine but Repetier Host is giving me difficulty. I configured as in the Orion manual, and got all the way to issuing manual controls from RH. However, it seems that whenever I connect to the printer via USB, the reset signal brings the serial settings back to the default 250000 baud (Ubuntu wasn't playing nice until I turned it down to 115200.) I've been using the process described in the quick start guide to set the baud rate on the printer side - is this right? (Configuration -> General -> Baud Rate on the 0.83 firmware.)
Once I connect to the printer, it won't do anything else from the PC side. If I browse the configuration menu I can see that it's back to 250000 baud. Repetier starts to say "# Command waiting" for every manual command I issue, but doesn't report any errors or otherwise indicate than anything untoward is going on. Am I doing something obviously wrong? I'm trying to find mention of similar problems amongst the documentation and discussions but I've mostly turned up unrelated problems so far. Any help would be much appreaciated.
Happy new year,
~Joe

Have you tried changing the baud rate using the LCD panel Configuration | General | Baud?
It's probably set for 250000 in the eprom.

Thanks. Yes, I got that far, which is what actually got RH to talk to the printer at all. But then the printer would reset and... no more. After re-reading the directions I noticed that I had previously missed the step to store the current settings to EEPROM. The quick start guide is correct but I didn't recognize that there was another command to be clicked in the menu because it wasn't capitalized. I'm very reliant on syntax cues - I spend too much time talking to computers. o.O

And... I forgot to add. Save to EEprom as well? Configuration | Save EEPROM
When the host tries to connect, Repeiter resets itself and dumps any unsaved settings, hence why the baud rate may be reverting.
