Did the website change, or do I need to complain to my IT department? - oh wait, that's me

I have tested it many times today and it works everytime.bubbasnow wrote:i found when the hover login "stay logged on" box is checked it does not stay logged in, until i click the logon button and check the box on that page will it finally stay logged in
Now it makes sense, I login everyday so it works for me. I couldn't figure out why it worked for some and not others.Eric wrote:I just looked at my cookies for seemecnc and even deleted a few to verify they were the right ones. The browser cookies these forums are using expire after only 24 hours. So if you check in at least once a day, you'll stay logged in forever. If you don't check every day, the feature is near-useless to you.
This can presumably be changed somewhere in the forum administration/setup. Nothing us readers can do about it but live with it.
Same here, it's one of the sites I hit in the morning before work.Eaglezsoar wrote:Now it makes sense, I login everyday so it works for me. Thanks for the info, maybe Gene can fix that, hint, hint.
Sounds good to me. Most users will login within that period of time and for those who don't the browser normally cachesjohnoly99 wrote:Ok, OK. I'll up the cookie timeout to say 36hrs? Sound good to you guys?
I think your previous question made him do it, thanks.Eric wrote:Hah! Looks like he made it a year. That really should do it!
