Can't Attach Attachments in Personal Messages

A user sent me a PM asking for a small drawing of how to install an SSR on the Heatbed.
I thought, no problem, and went into Paint and created a small .jpg and tried to send it as an attachment. Nope, .jpg is not allowed as an attachment.
Okay, I thought, we'll do it as a .png. Nope, .png is not allowed as an attachment.
Okay, I thought, we'll do it as a .bmp. Nope, .bmp is not allowed as an attachment.
Okay, I thought, we'll do it as a .zip. Nope, .zip is not allowed as an attachment.
Okay, I thought, we'll rename the darn thing a txt file which the user will have to rename back to a .jpg. Jumpin Gee Hosaphat, IT WORKED!

I think in our zest to stop the spammers we pretty much stopped legitimate users from sending attachments.
I know we have to stop spammers but Golly G Gillywinkers, do we have to virtually stop all attachments?
Edited: I am talking about attachments in personal messages, NOT the main forum.

Right over my head. I wasn't talking about attachments that will be accepted.

That was not my point. My point is attachments while in a personal message.
Try that while in personal messages and see if you get the same result.
