Ez Struder Jamming

Post by kdws »

Hi,

I just bought the Ez Struder and I am trying to get it to work. I'm having some problems with jamming.

The 1.75mm PLA filament slips under the bearing and escapes the grip of the hobbed gear.

The red piece that the bearing is attached to has some vertical play to it. Is that normal or is the Ez Struder defective?

I'm at work now, but I think there is no play in the red lever.
The spring that lifts that red lever, and thus holds the filament, is even quite strong.

The lever can wiggle a bit, but the spring tension should still be strong.

Are you successfully feeding filament through your bowden tube, or is it hanging up in one of the fittings?

Has your hot-end temp changed?

You've adjusted your steps in the firmware too, right?

I read the calibration guide for the Rostock Max in the Assembly guide and I realized that I was feeding the filament through the wrong hole.

I was feeding it through the side so the filament had to make a 90 degree turn. I didn't see the hole underneath the red lever.

It's working perfectly now.

Thanks again guys.

Glad you got it working and by describing the problem you have helped others not make the same mistake.
