Problems connecting Fan(s) to Rambo [solved]

Post by dansch »

I'm currently struggling with connecting a 25mm PEEK Fan and a 40mm PLA Fan to the Rambo.
As mentionend in the Rostock Max Assembling Guide i connected the PEEK Fan to the "Fan 1" Rambo input.
As i couldn't find an other info i connected the second fan to the "Fan 2" input.

But i can't start any of the Fans by the GCode command M106, neither does it start automatically with the Extruder...

Any suggestions where i went wrong?

If you have 083 or the newest 091 firmware, you want to connect the 25mm peek fan to HEAT_1 on the RAMBo board, and the 40mm part cooling fan connects to FAN_0

The 25mm fan will automagically come on any time your hotend temp is EITHER above OR set to a temp greater than 50c. It will stay on until the hotend cools down below that 50c temp.

The part fan will then work with gcode/host fan slider once you connect it to fan_0

Thank you, i will try this when i'm back home on saturday.
I didn't heat the hotend to over 50 c for testing so maybe that was the problem with the heat_1 connector, gcode for fan_0 should be m106?

I guess it doesn't mather wheter the black or red wire (from the fan) goes to the + or - on the Rambo?
