Overhead EZStruder Motor Extension

Post by kittka »

Is it possible to buy an pre-made extension for the Nema motor that has the polarized connectors already on? I've tried to make my own for the overhead extruder motor without much luck -- the connections are very finicky and if I jostle the cord the motor stops extruding. Right now I have to run with the bay door open or else the cord acts up.

Shouldn't give you much trouble if you pick up some JST connectors and use the supplied wiring. What part is it that you are having a hard time with?

You don't use JST connectors on the stepper motors. :D

You need to use a four pin, latching polarized connector.
See this page: http://www.hansenhobbies.com/products/c ... in_lp_1x4/ - the first two entries on the page are what I use for the extensions.

Different strokes for different folks. As long as it works you didn't do bad. Most of us would have used the type of
connector that Gene pointed out but it is your printer and use can use what ever connector you want as long as it works.
