Dual extrusion?

Post by printer999 »

Hey I was wondering If seemecnc or anyone else was going to create a dual extruder upgrade for the orion like some other printers do nowadays. I thought it might be pretty nice to be able to do two colors at once. If there already is one then please direct me to it as I may be interested in one.

The Orion uses the same platform as the Rostock Max and the dual extruder platforms that you can find on Thingiverse would work.
There are several topics on this forum for setting up dual extruders, go to the Rostock Max subtopic and search for dual extruders.

The problem with implementing this on the Orion is the small area in which to work, but it should be fully capable of running dual extruders if you can
find a place to mount another EZstruder and another spool of filament.

Yeah, I don't know why it took so long for someone to answer you. That doesn't normally happen. I apologize that it took so long.
