windows fails to see RAMBO

Post by vincenmt »

I have built my rostock but now I have hit the limits starting into the software. I have connected everything and tested the power supply, cable and two computers. Neither computer failed to find the driver per instructions on pg 152 tried installing the driver manually but still no device in the manager. tried the rambo in power supply mode and usb powered mode. double checked all my wiring.

Can you give us the steps you use to install the Rambo driver? Somehow you are missing a step in the process because this is not normally an area
that gives a lot of problems.

Also a few more details - what version of Windows are you running? How old is your computer - brand spanking new or one that you've had for awhile?

so i have the driver in an un-ziped folder and i have connected the rambo to all its sundries and the usb to the computer(windows 7 i7 laptop at the moment).
i throw the psu switch and wait. no bubble saying "attempting to install driver".nothing happens. flip switch off. repeat.
i do have a light on the rambo when the psu switch is on

Chances are that Windows automagically installed an incorrect driver.

Go to your device manager (hidden in the control panel) and see if there are any devices with a yellow caution/exclamation point in the list. If ther is, and it's the Rambo, you can right click on it and tell it where to find the correct driver.
