Aqua Net

Post by timothysvec »

I read on thingaverse about using Aqua Net hair spray. Man, it works excellent. I just cover my glass plate with blue masking tape and take it outside and give that plate a spray with Aqua Net. The abs sticks really well. Hope this helps!
cheers,
tim

That's interesting! I will have to try that. Does this work for PLA also? How heavy of a coat do you put on? Does it leave a residue on the printed object? Can it be cleaned off?

Hair spray in general, or is there something special in that one?

Hmm, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hair_spray is interesting. Sounds like modern hair spray formulas actually contain spray-on acrylic or other plastics, which would explain why it would works for us.

Suave from a pump bottle also works.

How easy do the printed parts come off when the bed is hot/cold?

No problem. I turn off the hot bed.... Let everything cool down... Them pry'm off with mt pocket knife. They just pop off about the same as with no hair spray. That stuff has been working really well for me.
