Snapped Limit Switch Lever Off
Snapped Limit Switch Lever Off
So...I was just explaining something to my co-worker when I accidentally bumped the limit switch with my finger and snapped the lever off. I understand that these levers are removable but what I don't understand is if by snapping it back into place does that change the calibration of the arm somehow. I kind of bent the lever and used needle nose pliers to bend it back to shape. What do you think?

Go for it! Worst case, new limit switch. They're readily available. A very common part.

Re: Snapped Limit Switch Lever Off
you will need to recalibrate the Z height.

Re: Snapped Limit Switch Lever Off
If you still get good positive snapping action from the lever, and it doesn't wobble (much) side to side, then you should be good in the long run. But, you will definitely need to recalibrate.

Re: Snapped Limit Switch Lever Off
Ah! I actually re-calibrate the z height quite often. I don't do it on every print but nearly every print. I did re-calibrate after I snapped the lever back in place but not because I thought I needed to, rather because it's habit. I printed a 4 hour print afterward and noticed nothing wrong with it. Printed as expected. Very satisfied with the result. I'll assume that I'm good to go.
